| Abstract: | Purpose – This article aims to draw attention to the fact that succession planning is crucial to libraries. Design/methodology/approach – The article is a literature review and commentary on the topic of succession planning in libraries. Findings – Libraries need to make succession planning a priority of human resource management. Originality/value – The value of planning ahead is needed with the exodus of baby boomers. |
